“This fellowship has allowed me to expand my knowledge on what system change really means and start thinking about how to measure impact, bring in stakeholder, minimize harm, and push my ideas further or change them completely.”
“I have met a lot of other TFA alumni who are working and living in Las Vegas as well. It’s been nice to connect with alumni who are not from the same corps year or placement location as me because I don’t think I would have otherwise.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will relocation expenses be paid for?
A: Yes, all accepted fellows relocating to Nevada will receive a relocation stipend (ranging from $2,500-3,500).
Q: How will TFA LV provide job placement support?
A: Employers across several sectors are constantly asking TFA LV for talent. Once an applicant is formally extended a fellowship spot, TFA LV staff will connect them to potential employers. *NOTE: fellows are responsible for securing their own employment.
Q: What is it like to live and work in Las Vegas?
A: While the Las Vegas experience is unique for each person, most people are blown away by how much there's to explore beyond the strip. Las Vegas is one of the greatest cities in the world—and the 25th most populous city in the United States which makes it the best big little city that you will ever live in. You will see that Las Vegas offers a high demand for jobs for our ever expanding city, no state income tax, relatively low cost of living, national parks for hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities, shopping, nightlife, easy access to neighboring states for exploration, and more! Most of what you’re looking for can be found in or around Las Vegas. Most importantly, Las Vegas is a city where you truly can make an impact in whatever field that you’re in. Get rooted in Las Vegas and make it your own!
Q: What does the systems change project in Track 1 entail?
A: The systems change project is a year-long journey where fellows will identify a problem in the community and will try innovative solutions for addressing it. The most important requirement is that the fellow works in partnership with the community and attempts to create measurable change.
Q: What programs can I access to pursue an admin degree for Track 2?
A: Teach For America Las Vegas has partnerships with the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) and Columbia University’s Summer Principals Academy (SPA). UNLV’s Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Policy & Leadership is a 36 semester hour program that prepares future school leaders to meet the challenges they will encounter in Southern Nevada PK-12 schools in the 21st century. SPA is a 14-month program consisting of two 5-week summer semesters and one year-long internship where educators learn what it takes to be innovative and transformative school leaders prepared to overcome gaps in educational access and achievement. Lead in Las Vegas participants can enroll in any program that will lead to an administrative endorsement in Nevada, so do not feel limited to these two programs.
